Vegetation and Utility Right-of-Way
Right-of-way inspection evidence, located and photographed
Transmission owners inspect 100 percent of applicable lines every calendar year, with no more than 18 months between inspections of the same right-of-way. That is a NERC requirement, and the evidence has to hold up.
Right-of-way vegetation documented in the language of ANSI A300 Part 7 and NERC FAC-003-5.
Transmission owners inspect 100 percent of applicable lines every calendar year, with no more than 18 months between inspections of the same right-of-way. That is a NERC requirement, and the evidence has to hold up.
SAI produces the inspection evidence: encroachments located by coordinate, classified by condition type, measured against the applicable clearance, and photographed. Findings are written in the vocabulary the client's own program already uses.
What you receive
- Encroachment log by span or right-of-way station, with coordinates
- Condition classification matching the standard's own categories
- Measured margin against the applicable clearance distance
- Photographic evidence with capture dates
- Recommended action in A300 Part 7 terms
Where this stops
- SAI provides inspection evidence for the client's vegetation management program. Herbicide application is referred to a licensed applicator. Client-specific action thresholds are confirmed with the client before the first job, since those thresholds, not the minimum clearance alone, usually drive the schedule.
Turnaround
Turnaround is agreed in the written scope before the flight.
