Pavement Condition

Documented to the standard your engineer already uses

Parking lots fail slowly and then all at once. The distresses that decide whether a lot needs crack seal or a full overlay are visible from the air long before they are obvious from a truck window. Sentinel Aerial Inspections documents pavement condition using the ASTM D6433 distress definitions, the same vocabulary your engineer and your paving contractor already work from.

What's Included

Two-Pass Capture

The first pass maps the site with the wide camera and builds the orthomosaic and surface model. The second pass flies lower with the tele camera for close detail imagery, which becomes the evidence record behind every distress in the report. One visit, two flight profiles.

Georeferenced Distress Map

Every recorded distress is located on the site orthomosaic with coordinates, so your contractor can find it and your engineer can measure it. Exported for GIS or CAD alongside the report.

Distress Inventory

Each distress recorded by type, observed severity, and quantity taken off the orthomosaic in the units the standard specifies. Cracking in linear feet, area distresses in square feet, counted distresses by count.

Severity Rated from the Imagery

Each distress is rated low, medium, or high against the standard's distress definitions, based on what the aerial and detail imagery show. Treat these ratings as a field observation for planning and budgeting. Where a crack width decides the repair, your engineer confirms it on the ground.

Drainage and Ponding

The surface model shows where water collects. Flow accumulation over the site flags standing-water zones, which is where pavement fails first and where most condition reports say nothing.

Turnaround

Distress inventory and georeferenced condition map delivered within five business days of the flight.

Available Add-ons

Restriping Study

A proposed stall layout for the existing footprint, tested across parking angles and row orientations, with the accessible stall count the ADA standards require. Delivered as a scaled planning drawing for weighing options and sizing the job. A licensed professional seals the drawing that goes out for construction.

Multi-Year Comparison

Repeat flights on the same site compared against the prior survey so deterioration rates are visible and maintenance budgets can be defended.
